The Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency has been a fortress of the Majlis since 1984. Between 1984 and 2004, Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi won the seat on 6 different occasions. Since 2004, Asaduddin Owaisi has been winning the Hyderabad MP seat(2004, 09, 14). But BJP has devised a strong plan to challenge the domination of the Owaisis in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha Segment.
In the first list of MPs announced by BJP yesterday, Kompella Madhavi Latha’s name caught everyone’s attention the reason being her announcement as BJP Hyderabad MP candidate. But who is Madhavi Latha?
Madhavi is the chairman of the famous Virinchi Hospital and a proclaimed cultural activist. She carries a strong Hindutva representation and actively holds several Hindu cultural events in the old city area of Hyderabad. Being a religious activist, and an established philanthropist, she was identified by the BJP and has been rewarded with the Hyderabad MP ticket by the saffron party.
On three occasions in the past, BJP got second place in the electoral race in the Hyderabad Lok Sabha polls. This time, BJP has fielded a financially sound and religiously significant Madhavi Latha from the crucial Hyderabad segment and hopes to mark the end to the domination of MIM and Owaisis in the city. Can Madhavi Latha deliver a shock to the MIM outfit in her first-ever election? Or will Owaisi continue his domination and sweep the seat again? We will know the answer in two months.
