Double Digit For Congress In AP? Will It Happen

Andhra Pradesh Congress was restricted to a bare nothing in the 2019 election after the party failed to open the account in all 175 MLA and 25 MP seats in the state. But things are looking better for Congress after the entry of YS Sharmila who is serving as AP Congress president.

Sharmila took part in a central-level meeting with Congress leaders in Delhi and discussed the party’s plan of action for the coming polls. The AP Congress president said Congress has received 1500 applications for the 175 MLA constituencies in the state and said this in itself is a sign of the party’s progress here.

The YS family lady projected that Congress will win double digit vote share in AP. “Congress will see a significant jump from the 1.17% vote share that it got in 2019. We will get double-digit vote share here in 2024 and we will win a significant number of MLAs and MPs. Congress has regained its lost glory in Andhra Pradesh and we will surely put up an improved performance in this year’s election.”

Going from 1.17% vote share to a double-digit vote share in just five years and that too with the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance indulging in a neck-to-neck fight with YSR Congress would be a huge feat and Sharmila is anticipating the same. Is it really possible for Congress to do something like this in AP? We will know the answer in two months time.
