What Are The 5 Most Important Constituencies In AP?

Andhra Pradesh election schedule is likely to be announced by the Election Commission on March 16th. As the election season intensifies, here is a look at the 5 most important constituencies in Andhra Pradesh that have political stalwarts in the contest.

The 5 important constituencies are Pulivendula, Kuppam, Mangalagiri, Hindupur and Pithapuram.

Pulivendula is the bastion of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and he is confirmed to contest from here in the coming election. He or his YS family has never faced defeat here.

Kuppam has Chandrababu Naidu in the electoral contest and he is the 7-time MLA from here since 1989. He too has never faced defeat here. Then comes Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Hindupur which is a historical stronghold of the TDP. Balayya has made Hindupur his fort since 2014 and he will contest from here for the third time in 2024.

Mangalagiri emerged as a hotshot seat after Nara Lokesh’s electoral roll here in 2019. Lokesh, shockingly, ended up losing in 2019 but he is determined to win by a majority of 50,000 votes here in 2024 as he stuck with the constituency despite the defeat.

Lastly, we have Pithapuram which is the newest entry to the list of hotshot seats after Pawan Kalyan announced his candidacy from here. After losing from Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka in 2019, Pawan is determined to win from Pithapuram this time and he will have to take on YCP’s Vanga Geetha if he is to enter the assembly.

These five constituencies will be the most talked-about ones in AP politics as they have the stalwarts of AP politics in the contest.
