Flash: Polling & Counting Dates of Andhra Pradesh

The Election Commission called for a media meeting today to announce the election schedule for the coming general and assembly elections. This brings an end to the long wait for important electoral dates related to Andhra Pradesh.

The EC has announced that Andhra Pradesh will be going to polls on May 13th which is nearly two months from today.

The counting and the subsequent announcement of results are scheduled to take place on June 4th.

The election code of conduct will come to effect in Andhra Pradesh from April 18th. The last date for filing the nominations is April 25th.

The end point is that Andhra Pradesh will either decide to continue the YSR Congress government or give the power back to the TDP-JSP-BJP on May 13 and the result will be announced on June 4th.
