YS Sharmila is working on every strategy that can directly affect her brother YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his YSR Congress party. She has delivered another punch to YSR Congress by welcoming the party’s sitting MLA Thoguru Arthur into Congress.
Arthur met Sharmila today and officially joined the Congress party in her presence. Sharmila welcomed Arthur to Congress and presented him with a Congress Kanduva to commemorate the political move.
Arthur won from Nandikotkur on the YCP ticket in 2019 but when it came to this year’s election, he lost the MLA ticket as YCP planned an alternative candidate. Hurt by this, the sitting MLA decided to jump off Jagan’s bandwagon and joined Congress in the presence of YS Sharmila.
Arthur could be Congress’s MLA candidate from Nandikotkur in this year’s election. From not having notable candidates in 2019, to being able to attract sitting MLAs to contest on their behalf, Congress has made some sort of progress under Sharmila’s leadership, a political analyst remarked.
