Telangana CM KCR’s dream of having a swanky Secretariat will begin its works on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra festival. From the government sources we hear that KCR would lay the foundation stone for the construction on October 25th and within a period of one year, the Secretariat should be ready is what KCR wants.
As per the directions of CM KCR, the Roads & Buildings (R&B) department is drawing strategies and also looking at construction companies that are able to meet the deadline. On October 15th, the R&B will be opening up the technical bids and on 19th, the price bids will be opened.
This process is followed by Commissioner of Tenders (CoT) approval and the R&B will issue ‘Letter of Acceptance’ to the company which gets the contract. Once the papers are placed, the company should start the construction in 15 days time.
The R&B is firm to complete the construction of Secretariat in a fixed time. A few companies have asked the R&B to extend the time period but it was declined.
