Political strategist and former chief at IPAC, Prashant Kishor has been making frequent media appearances. With the AP elections fast approaching, the media is eager to get PK’s assessment of the polling trends and the chances of his good friend retaining power in Andhra Pradesh.
But Prashant Kishor is firmly and confidently saying that Jagan Mohan Reddy won’t retain power. He even meticulously explained the series of events leading to Jagan’s downfall.
‘In a democratic system, a politician is elected to look after the aspirations of the public, and not just carry out cash transfer schemes. There is a difference between a leader and a provider. A leader ensures the overall progress of the state while a provider just takes the taxpayers’ money and gives it back to the voters. Jagan is carrying a provider’s mindset now and thinking that providing money will be enough for him to get the votes. This won’t work. I think it is very tough for him to come back to power again’
It isn’t like PK is randomly making statements against Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is explaining the current situation in AP and denoting how Jagan’s rule doesn’t bode with the aspirations of the larger sections of the public.
