India Polls: Hyderabad Must Learn From Chennai

Hyderabad voters have this hugely detrimental habit of not turning up to the polling booths on the day of the election after ranting about the incumbent government for all 5 years. Shockingly, in the 2019 parliamentary elections, Hyderabad polled a record-low 45.65% votes.

To put that into perspective, if we look at the Chennai city polling trends this year, the city has polled an average of 68% votes which is a pretty good number for a metropolitan city.

Chennai went to polls today and the city has registered a good polling percentage and maybe it is time for Hyderabadi voters to take a cue from Chennai voters and turn up in substantial numbers to the polling booths to make the most important decision about their fate for the next 5 years.

Hyderabad is going to general elections on the 13th of May and it has to be seen if the city can post better numbers than what it did in 2019.
