The Cases Speak: Naidu’s and Jagan Legal Challenges

Towards the end of 2023, Chandrababu Naidu was named in multiple cases including the skill scam case, AP Fiber grid scam, Amaravati land pooling case, and others that the state investigative agencies filed. TDP troopers argued that these cases were filed with vested interests by the YSR Congress government. 

But despite the targeted legal and investigative attack on Chandrababu Naidu, the cases that were filed against him are fewer than the cases that were filed against CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. 

As per the self-declared affidavit, Chandrababu has 24 cases against him. The majority of these cases have to do with the cases filed by AP CID in recent months regarding the skill scam, Fibergrid scam, and others.

In the case of Jagan Mohan Reddy, he has 26 cases against him. The majority of these cases are regarding financial irregularities and disproportionate assets that are being investigated by the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate. The nature of these cases is more severe than those on Chandrababu Naidu. 

Despite the targeted approach from the state investigative agencies, the cases on Chandrababu are still fewer than Jagan Mohan Reddy. The situation was so confusing that Chandrababu had to write a letter to the AP DGP to list out all the cases that were filed against him. In total, the two CM candidates in AP have 50 cases in between them.
