Last night, a politically motivated group on social media extensively shared a carefully edited video of Vizag TDP MP candidate Bharat Mathukumilli, aimed at propagandizing against Amaravati. The video was edited in such a way as to make it seem like Bharat was asserting that Vizag is superior to Amaravati and that the AP government lacks the funds to develop Amaravati.

However, Bharat reacted promptly, countering the social media narrative set by anti-TDP groups by sharing the full contextual video.

In the unedited video, Bharat expressed that while Amaravati would remain the capital during the TDP government’s tenure, Vizag would flourish as the financial capital. He drew parallels with cities like New York and Washington DC, as well as Mumbai and Delhi, to illustrate this point. He affirmed that Amaravati would be developed as a world-class capital, while Vizag would become a thriving financial hub.
