The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru Police have held raids at Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi’s residence in Mumbai. The reason behind the raid is, Vivek’s brother-in-law Aditya Alva has been named as the fifth accused in the sensational drug scandal that stormed the sandalwood industry.
Aditya is on the run from September 4th and CCB police have been searching for him at many places. Earlier the police held raids at a resort that belongs to Aditya and later they received information that Aditya was hiding at Priyanka Alva’s (Vivek’s wife) residence in Mumbai.
Based on this, the CCB police landed in Mumbai and before holding the raids, they garnered a court warrant and then carried out these search operations.
In August, filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh exposed the Sandalwood drugs racket and reportedly named at least 15 celebs who were involved in drug trafficking. Subsequently the police arrested actresses Ragini Dwivedi and Sanjjanaa Galrani.
