After a gutting defeat in the recent assembly elections, the BRS camp has been facing a tough time in Telangana. The party couldn’t even open its account in the recent MP elections and it pushed the KCR-led outfit into complete disarray.
Shortly after the MP election results came out, BRS has started to lose its MLAs to Congress. The party lost its 5th MLA to Congress today as Jagityal MLA Sanjay Kumar joined Congress in the presence of Revanth Reddy.
Already Danam Nagender, Kadiam Srihari, Tellam Venkatarao, and Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy have joined Congress and now, Sanjay Kumar happens to be the 5th addition to the list.
Congress’s strength in the house goes up to a solid 69 with this defection while BRS slipped to 34.
There are media reports that 20 other BRS MLAs are silently in talks with the Congress party and it is upon Revanth Reddy on whom to invite and when to do so.
If that is the case, losing 25 MLAs to Congress would deliver a killer blow to BRS and pave way for BJP’s raise in Telangana as the second biggest party in Telangana by the time of coming election.
