The YSR Congress Party received a severe blow as the Andhra Pradesh government took stringent action against their party offices. It began with the demolition of an under-construction YCP office in Tadepalli, followed by notices served to illegal under-construction offices across the state.
In response, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has issued a significant order, further complicating matters for the YCP.
Today, the HC delivered its verdict on the case concerning illegal constructions commissioned by the former YCP government for their party offices. The court emphasized that the AP government must adhere to established regulations when demolishing YCP offices. The YSR Congress has been given a two-month deadline to submit necessary permissions, land records, and legal clearances for their party offices.
Failure to provide satisfactory documentation may result in government-imposed restrictions.
Additionally, the court instructed the AP government not to aggressively demolish these buildings unless they pose a threat to public safety. This directive provides some relief to the YCP.
