There was widespread public opinion that Jagan Mohan Reddy had a peculiar inferiority complex, as he never used to mention the names of Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan directly. Whenever he referred to them in public, he would call them “Dattaputrudu” and “Uttaputrudu”. Despite criticism of Jagan’s vehement stance, he remained consistent in this approach.
However, for a change, Jagan Mohan Reddy has returned to normalcy by starting to mention Lokesh and Pawan by their actual names. In a recent press meet after the election, Jagan wished “Pawan Kalyan” a successful tenure.
Today, Jagan finally mentioned Nara Lokesh by name while discussing the red book. He expressed concern about Lokesh’s red book, noting, “Lokesh has one red book, Chandrababu has a red book, and everyone in the government has a red book,” Jagan said.
This is the first time in recent years that Jagan has referred to Lokesh by his actual name, which is perhaps a significant acknowledgment in itself. Previously, Jagan had 151 MLAs on his side, while Lokesh lost from Mangalagiri, giving the YCP boss a psychological advantage over Lokesh.
However, in this year’s election, Lokesh revived himself, energized the TDP cadres, and propelled the TDP to power. Therefore, he naturally commands respect and political influence. Jagan seems to have accepted this change, as he publicly acknowledged Lokesh for the first time in many years. While this might not appear significant for the high-flying Lokesh, Jagan’s recognition of the power shift represents a new dynamic in AP politics.
