TDP’s Operation ‘Chittoor Corporation’?

Back during the local body elections, the then YSR Congress government grossly misused its power to turn the election entirely in favor. As a result, YCP swept each and every corporation in the state, except for Tadipatri.

But with the historic 2024 verdict, things are starting to change and TDP is on the brink of sweeping the first municipal corporation from YCP’s grip.

The corporation in question is Chittoor municipal corporation which falls under Chandrababu’s home district of Chittoor.

Chittoor, Mayor S Amuda, Deputy Mayor, and 13 corporators have all quit YCP and switched to TDP. As a result, Chittoor corporation has now failed in TDP’s bag. They have taken the TDP oath in the local TDP MLA Gurujala Jagan Mohan’s presence.

While YCP is facing existential crisis in the assembly itself with just 11 MLAs on its side, keeping ahold of corporations is next to impossible. So, we could see TDP+ sweeping more such municipal corporations in the coming days.
