Back when YSR Congress was in power, Kodali Nani was virtually unstoppable as he used to abuse Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan non-stop. But after losing power, he has gone rather silent, barring an occasional media appearance here and there.
Recently, a police case was filed against Nani in Gudivada for forcing volunteers to resign their posts and work for the YSR Congress Party. This case is still under investigation. Today, a new case has been filed against Nani for allegedly causing the suicide of an elderly woman.
A Gudivada native named Duggirala Prabhakar filed a police case against Nani, saying the ex-MLA caused his mother’s death by humiliating her.
According to the complainant, he acquired an AP Beverages godown license in 2011. But after YCP came to power in 2019, Kodali Nani, AP Beverages MD Vasudev Reddy, and one Madhavi Reddy forced him and his family to give away the license to a person named Padma Reddy.
When the victim’s mother, Seethamahalakshmi, pleaded with Vasudeva Reddy about this atrocious behavior, Madhavi Reddy came to their house and abused her. Unable to bear this, Seethamahalakshmi committed suicide. Now, her son Prabhakar, who is a victim of this power abuse under Kodali Nani’s regime, has filed a police complaint. Cases under multiple sections, including 448 and 507, were filed against Nani at the Gudivada police station.
