Former MP Margani Bharat Ram was defeated in the recently held elections. However, his inclination of being a publicity monger did not subside, despite losing power.
Recently, his campaign vehicle was set ablaze and when police swung into action, it was found that Ram father Margani Nageswara Rao’s trusted lieutenant Siva was behind the incident.
On June 28, Ram’s campaign vehicle was set afire and he alleged that it was the handiwork of his rivals. Police, who completed investigation into the case in a week, found that one Siva, a trusted lieutenant of Margani Nageswara Rao, set the vehicle on fire.
The DSP, addressing mediapersons, said that on June 28, he took some petrol from his own bike and then bought a matchbox and a mosquito repellent coil with the help of which set the vehicle on fire.
However, police did not mention if Siva took the step following directions from either Nageswara Rao or Bharat Ram.
The cops only mentioned of Siva’s role in the entire incident and also said that the CCTV footage helped them bust the case.
Meanwhile, the TDP and Jana Sena leaders alleged that Bharat Ram resorted to the incident only gain sympathy, post the humiliating defeat in 2024 Assembly polls.
