Did Sharmila Say Jagan Is Not YSR Varasudu?

Andhra Pradesh Congress president Sharmila has gone on the aggressive with her tactics. Her modus operand appears to be to destabilize her brother Jagan Mohan Reddy by entirely focusing on the YS loyalist vote bank that has been with Jagan since the start of the YCP outfit. She made her intentions clear by holding a huge event to commemorate YSR’s 75th Jayanthi yesterday.

It wasn’t like Sharmila was generic about the nature of the event either. She took a few indirect yet sly digs at Jagan Mohan Reddy and hit him where it hurt the most.

“YSR was a stoic detractor of BJP. He was a true blue congressman. Now, a person who allies with the same BJP and has a truce with them is claiming to be YSR’s varasudu. How can that happen? How can a BJP loyalist be an heir for YSR?” Sharmila said as she took a dig at Jagan for forming a truce with BJP from 2019-24.

Well, this verbal face-off could soon turn into a head-to-head electoral face-off soon. Telangana CM Revanth Reddy himself commented that in case there is a by-election for Kadapa, he will come here and campaign for Sharmila. If so, then Jagn would contest on YCP’s behalf while Sharmila would contest on Congress’s behalf. This is when the brother-sister rivalry would hit the peal point.
