Fake News Alert : No political angle in Vinukonda Murder

Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh is once again on high alert after a member of YSR Congress party’s youth wing and minority cell named Shaik Rasheed was hacked to death by his friend Shaik Jilani in Vinukonda town on Wednesday night at around 08:30 pm. Jilani wielded a machete and severed both of Rasheed’s hands and slit his throat.

The nauseating crime was captured on a video which went viral all over the social media. Soon after receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the severely injured Rasheed to the hospital where he was announced dead. Jilani was immediately arrested and taken into custody.

Immediately after the news broke out, social media raged with both TDP and YSRCP followers started trading charges over the brutal incident. While YSRCP supporters claimed the death as a politically motivated attack, the TDP counterattacked that both the deceased and the accused belong to the same party.

Putting an end to all speculations behind the incident , Palnadu district Superintendent of Police (SP) Kanchi Srinivasa Rao, who took charge two days ago, said the reason behind the murder was personal rivalry between the both and ruled out any political angle behind it.

TDP alleged that the YSR Congress party is trying its best to spread the fake news that TDP has been instigating its supporters to attack the opponents. However, the TDP social media alleged that both Rasheed and Jilani were close friends and worked together for rowdy sheeter and active YSRCP leader PS Khan.

Just a while ago, Jagan Mohan Reddy stated through his X handle that law and order is no where seen in the state after the new government came into power. He warned Chandrababu Naidu to abandon violence and demanded a special investigation into the incidents that happened after the elections.

Meanwhile, to prevent any further violence in the town, police imposed Section 144. Strict action would be taken against those who fail to follow the regulations and try to resort to further violence, SP said.
