30 Districts, A New Plan Of AP Govt?

The TDP coalition government was voted to power after it promised development and employment generation in a big way in the state.

In a step towards this direction, the government has made a proposal to create 30 districts in the state for better and effective administration.

Through delimitation of districts, the TDP government aims to decentralize economic development and also improve financial resources to the state.

At the same time, by going for multiple districts, the government also believes to generate more employment to the locals within the vicinity of five economic clusters, which would be developed in a systematic manner.

The government is contemplating to develop five economic clusters spread across the state for uniform employment generation.

Following are the economic clusters to be developed in the state.

One cluster would be developed in North Coastal Andhra with Visakhapatnam itself being proposed to be developed as a Mega city and this cluster is aimed at developing Palasa, Nagavali, Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Alluri Sitharama Raj, Kakinada, Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema and East Godavari districts.

Another cluster would be developed in the Central Coastal Andhra region with Amaravati, Vijayawada and Guntur as financial hubs. This would act as the economic centre for West Godavari, Eluru, Nuzvid, NTR Machilipatnam, Krishna, Guntur, Tenali, Amarama, Palnadu, Markapuram, Prakasam Ongole districts.

South Rayalaseema economic zone will be developed with Chennai as the Mega City and this would cater to the needs of people in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, YSR Kadapa, Tirupati, Chittoor districts.

Another cluster would be developed in West Rayalaseema region with Bengaluru as the Mega city helping in economic development of Chittoor (Kuppam revenue division), Madanapalle, Hindupur, Anantapur districts.

North Rayalaseema cluster will be developed with Hyderabad as the Mega City fueling development in Adoni, Kurnool and Nandyal districts.
