Revanth Reddy backs CBN’s statement

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP national president Chandrababu Naidu is popular all over the nation because of his visionary ideas. He is one of the fewest politicians in the country who thinks ahead of time and proposes ambitious plans for future generations. 

Once again, his foresightedness came to the fore and sparked a country wide discussion when he proposed the idea to have more kids among Indians as part of the two-child policy which he feels imperative to think of a demographic dividend beyond 2047. Naidu’s Tamil’s counterpart MK Stalin also rallied behind his proposal as the Southern states were losing out against others due to population control. 

Now, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy also backed Naidu’s statement during his recent media interaction at the Southern Rising Summit held in Hyderabad. 

Reacting on the fact that sticking to the two-child norm has brought the TFR ( Total Fertility Rate) of the country to around 2, which is below the replacement rate of 2.1 and the Southern states are way lesser to the Northern states, Revanth Reddy said it is the problem of the entire nation and needs to be addressed as the younger generation will become older in the next 20 years. 

Revanth Reddy said that the population of old people will increase gradually due to family planning and this is why Naidu might have proposed to have more kids. His statement has nothing to do with politics, added Revanth. He further emphasized that the country needs family planning only when there is priority for food, water and education which is not the case now due to surplus quantities. 

Revanth pointed that the average lifespan of an individual at the time of independence was only 32 years. However, due to the policies of Congress government at the centre, the lifespan kept on increasing and reached 80 years now. He predicted that it will reach 100 in the coming years.
