Madam Anitha, Not just talking tough but acting tough

Andhra Pradesh Home Minster Anitha Vangalapudi has to bear the brunt of the all the atrocities and violent activities that have surfaced ever since the NDA government under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assumed charge because she handles the vital Home Ministry that controls the police department.

In the last four months, there has been an uptick in crime rate and outrageous incidents which led to criticism on Anitha’s capability in handling the crucial portfolio.

Ever since Deputy Chief Minister and Janasena supremo Pawan Kalyan blatantly pointed out her inadequacy in handling the law and order issues, Anitha’s competence has come under more intense scrutiny not just from the Opposition but within the coalition government as well. Pawan came down heavily on the police department for their inaction and inability to exercise their power as part of their duty. She immediately clarified that Pawan’s comments will be taken positively moving forward.

It seems like Anitha has now turned the tables in no time after the controversial issue and sent out a strong message with her actions that she can handle the Home Ministry with an iron fist if necessary. From the past few days, numerous YSR Congress party supporters have been arrested for allegedly slanderous remarks on the leaders of the ruling government including Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

Besides this, Anitha has also decided to crack a strong whip against the erring police officers who are not proactive and trying to shield the perpetrators and wrongdoers. Earlier today, YSRCP social media activist and notable supporter Varra Ravindra Reddy was released quickly within hours after his arrest by just serving a 41-A notice by Kadapa police. This led to a huge discussion within the ranks of NDA l and both CM Chandrababu Naidu and DGP Dwaraka Tirumala Rao sought immediate inquiry into the matter and ordered a stern action against the police officers who dealt the case.

In quick time, Anitha ordered the transfer of Kadapa SP Harshavardhan Raju and also suspended one Circle Inspector for their delinquent attitude.

Those who believed that Anitha is not acting tough on such police officers who are not discharging their duties effectively and simply acting now feel that this type of strong action is what expected from her as a Home Minister.

With this, Anitha sent out a message that she is not talking tough but also acting tough. Many feel that being a tough lady she handled it in a matured way after Pawan Kalyan highlighted the growing public perception in his recent meeting.

Anitha’s swift action came at an appropriate time and she deserves full credit for quickly demonstrating what she is capable of doing.
