The costly Rushikonda Palace is one of the hallmark projects of former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and has only brought mystery to the YCP chief following his defeat in the recent election. The audacity to spend Rs 500 crore of public money on this lavish building led to significant public outrage.
Now, it has been revealed that several key files related to the Rushikonda Palace are missing. These include files regarding the necessary permissions for the construction of the building, as well as the clearance of the enclosures that existed at the site earlier.
Prior to the new palace, this place had a function hall with 80 rooms and a bar & restaurant. The furniture here, including the ACs, seating arrangements, fridges, and other equipment which amount to nearly Rs 50 crore are missing, say reports.
These records were supposed to be safeguarded by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, but they seem to have disappeared.
In addition, several key officers who played an integral role in the construction of the Rushikonda Palace have reportedly been transferred and are now inaccessible.
In short, several important files related to the controversial Rushikonda Palace are now unavailable, and the records of prior transactions appear to have been erased, oddly, right after the election results were announced.
