TDP MLAs Playing The Real Opposition In Assembly?

Usually, the established culture in the assembly is that the ruling party is on the offensive while the opposition is one the defensive and mostly confined to questioning the government and cabinet ministers. But in the case of AP assembly, the situation is completely different as there isn’t even an opposition here, given that YCP is not partaking in the session.

However, the void left by YCP is being shouldered by a few TDP MLAs themselves as they are calling out the NDA government and also the cabinet ministers.

From last few days of the Assembly sessions, few TDP MLAs raising their voice against ministeries about their irrulularty/or being late to Assembly. Begins with, TDP MLA Jyothula Nehru expressed dissent over the fact that he isn’t being given adequate time in the assembly. He fired at deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishna Raju on this matter.

Then, Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravikumar got up and started to question the ruling party. He expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of cabinet ministers in the assembly house. “What is the point of holding these sessions if we MLAs are unable to take the issues in our constituencies to the cabinet ministers in the assembly house?” He questioned Speaker Ayyannapatrudu.

Ayyannapatrudu advised Kuna to consult Minister Atchannaidu who is in the house and the latter promised to take up the MLA’s query to the concerned minister. But Kuna was vexed by this and left the house latter.

Usually, we see opposition MLAs stressing about time allocation and unresolving issues. But this time, in YCP’s absence, a small number of TDP MLAs themselves are playing the opposition’s role, thus hinting that there is perhaps no need for YCP in the house.
