At Last RTC Buses b/w AP And TS To Resume

Despite the Centre giving nod to run the RTC buses between the states, the services between AP and Telangana did not resume. Since March 22nd, no bus has operated with the Telugu states. This is primarily attributed to the conditions laid down by the Telangana government led TSRTC.

The Telangana RTC has laid some tough conditions before APSRTC like they wanted to cut down the number of buses to many destinations in AP but APSRTC did not want that. Simultaneously Telangana RTC wanted to run the same number of kilometres in AP. APSRTC used to operate services for nearly 2.5 lakh kilometres in Telangana and this will come down to 1,61,258 lakh kilometres.

APSRTC was not convinced with the conditions laid by the TSRTC, so it took a while and eventually the bus services did not resume. The officials of both RTCs have met numerous times but the talks kept failing. As TSRTC was stubborn, the APSRTC had no other option rather than to agree to the conditions.

In the presence of Telangana transport minister Puvvada Ajay, RTC officials of both RTCs have signed the MoU and starting from this night, the buses between Andhra and Telangana will hit the roads.

As per the MoU, Telangana would run around 826 buses services in AP while APSRTC will operate just 638 buses in Telangana. Also APSRTC will not run any buses from AP to Srisailam and in Vijayawada route, TSRTC will run 273 while APSRTC will do 192 buses hereafter.

But with the non-resumption of buses between AP and Telangana, APSRTC has lost Rs 2400 crore while TSRTC has lost Rs 2000 crore so far.
