YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is widely regarded as a unilateral decision-maker who follows shrewd principles. This is clearly understood if we look at the statement rolled out by Balineni Srinivas Reddy, an ex MLA from YCP who traveled with YS family for over two decades.
“Back when Revanth Reddy was elected as Telangana CM, he was serving as an MP from Malkajgiri prior to that. While resining as MP before taking charge as a CM, he gave a party to near and dear MPs in Delhi. Certain number of YCP MPs attended the party out of compassion and respect towards Revanth. This irked Jagan Mohan Reddy and he didn’t give the MP ticket to even a single MP who attended the party” Balineni said.
The senior leader commented that Jagan is so monopolistic that he noted down each of the MP who attended Revanth’s party in Delhi and sought revenge by rejecting MP tickets for each and every single one of them in 2024.
As it turned out, Jagan rejected MP tickets to 17 of his sitting MPs just because of the face that they met and greeted Revanth Reddy in Delhi. In the end, this proved entirely detrimental for YCP as the party went from having 22 MPs in 2019 to a mere 4 in 2024.
It appears that Revanth Reddy, albeit involuntarily and unknowingly, had a strong and adverse effect on Jagan Mohan Reddy. Is this an indication that Jagan envied Revanth so very much? It shall also be noted that Revanth himself said Jagan hadn’t even called to congratulate him when he won as CM in 2023 despite being a neighboring CM.
