TTD Reforms: Effective And Responsive

Just a few days back, deputy CM Pawan Kalyan stated that the ex CM YS Jagan ran the temples in the state, like some sort of business operations. This came shortly after it was identified that there were certain adulterated ingredients in the holy Tirumala Laddu.

However, with a new TTD board in effect and a senior professional like BR Naidu at the helm: the operations are certainly being streamlined in a quick and efficient way.

First, the emphasis was on restoring the quality of Laddoo by procuring quality Nandini ghee and then the deputation of non-Hindu TTD workers through VRS. This was followed by the ban on speaking political topics at Tirumala which is pretty much the need of the hour.

Apart from the organisational changes, the new TTD board resurrected the operational activities as well. The general consensus has been that the restrooms and even general pathways in Tirumala are comparatively cleaner, and more sanitised now than ever.

Now in another major reformation that is said to be enforced very soon. The TTD chairman BR Naidu has confirmed that the board will soon incorporate name badge system in Tirumala.

The idea here is to incorporate a badging system where the name of the employee will be printed on his/her TTD uniform. This operational reform is reportedly being introduced to address a key feedback from the public, saying that a few employees are behaving harshly with pilgrims.

Once the badging system is introduced, the employee’s name will be displayed on the uniform. This will essentially let the Pilgrim identify those who behave harshly and then file a complaint with the concerned authorities at TTD if deemed fit. Appropriate action could be taken on the concerned employees later.

This important change will bring more accountability to the employees and mandate them to be more polite and respectful towards devotees. This is a welcome change.

Considering all the good work that is being done at TTD, it could be said that this is one of the most efficient and responsive boards in recent years.
