As reported earlier, the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan is currently on an elaborate tour to the Kadapa district. After wrapping up the Christmas celebrations and subsequent meetings with his cadre, Jagan took part in a customer meeting with his party activists in Pulivendula yesterday.
However, during this meeting at Jagan’s official residence in Pulivendula, there was an untoward incident. Reportedly the glass windows in front of Jagan’s residence got shattered, and this resulted in a police lathicharge yesterday. This led to an ugly scene at the former CM’s house in his den of Pulivendula.
In this context, TV 5 reported that Jagan’s followers agitated against the pending bills from the YCP tenure and that’s why they threw stones at his house as a token of protest against the former CM.
However, YCP leaders have a different story to tell. YCP’s Satish Reddy, a native of Pulivendula, and Jagan’s uncle Ravindra Reddy stated a section of media is spinning incoherent stories on a rather simple incident.
The version presented by YCP leaders is that the glasses got shattered due to the uncontrollable influx of crowds. They are saying that the public that turned up to meet. Jagan was so big that they clattered onto the frontal windows and doors at the residence, which resulted in the shattering of glass.
The end story is that TV5 and a select few media outlets say the incident at Jagan’s house was a sign of protest while YCP leaders are saying it is nothing as such. In the meanwhile, social media is actively debating on what had happened at Jagan’s house in Pulivendula last afternoon.
Another point to be noted, is that a similar uncontrollable crowd incident happened during Jagan’s last visit to Pulivendula as well. This is becoming repetitive sound, as concerning as it may appear.
