Former AP CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has filed a petition in the CBI court seeking permission for an overseas trip. Jagan has requested permission to visit the UK from January 11 to 25, 2025, along with his family. His daughters are pursuing higher studies in UK.
The court, after considering the petition, directed the CBI officials to file a counter. Once the CBI files its response, further arguments will take place.
It is well-known that Jagan is an accused in a disproportionate assets case, and whenever he plans to leave the country, he must seek permission from the CBI court.
When he was granted bail in this case, the court imposed the condition that he could not leave the country without the court’s permission. Hence, Jagan has no option but to seek the court’s approval before making any international travel plans.
In the past, whenever Jagan had to travel abroad, he had submitted a petition to the court and only proceeded after receiving permission.
After the general elections in Andhra Pradesh last year and before the results yet to announce, Jagan traveled abroad with his family. Between May 17 and June 1, he reportedly visited the UK, Switzerland, and France. Now, once again, he plans to visit the UK.
