The unfortunate incident of the Tirumala stampede took away the lives of six people and left several injured. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan apologized to the public about the stampede incident and demanded an unconditional apology from the TTD board members.
TTD Board Chairman BR Naidu apologized to the public on behalf of the board. BR Naidu and a few other board members spoke about the incident on Friday evening. BR Naidu tendered apologies to the devotees and public and underlined that there has been no mistake from TTD.
BR Naidu emphasized that the board made all required arrangements for the convenience of devotees and reiterated that the TTD board is not the reason for the mishap. Earlier, BR Naidu responded to a media person’s question on Pawan Kalyan’s demand for an open apology.
He questioned if his apology brings the lost lives back and also said there is no need to respond to comments made by others. However, in a Twitter post later, BR Naidu clarified that his comments were not regarding Pawan Kalyan. BR Naidu further says that his response was about the comments made by many on social media and certainly not about Pawan Kalyan. He ridiculed people attributing his words as a response to Pawan Kalyan and also claimed to have apologized to the victims’ families.
DSP Ramana Kumar and Gosala director Harinadha Reddy were suspended regarding the incident and Tirupati SP Subbarayudu, TTD JEO Gouthami, and Chief Security Officer Sridhar were transferred.
