Khushbu To Get Rajya Sabha Seat?

Actress Khushbu Sundar who recently quit Congress and joined BJP, is likely to get a promotion from the saffron party. The BJP leadership is considering to send Khushbu to the Upper House and is likely to nominate her name.

In June, elections to four Rajya Sabha seats from Karnataka state’s quota were held. BJP has won all of them but one member named Ashok Gasti passed away because of Corona. Recently the Election Commission of India has announced that it would hold the poll for this vacant seat in December.

Also it’s a usual practice from the Karnataka quota to nominate a person from other states and so BJP wants to offer this seat to Khushbu. With Tamil Nadu Assembly elections scheduled in mid next year, by giving Rajya Sabha ticket to Khushbu would do some balance in Tamil Nadu politics.

BJP is desperate to make inroads in Tamil Nadu politics and wants to increase its vote share. Accordingly BJP is leaving no stone unturned to do it. However Khushbu wants to contest the Assembly elections and it is yet to be known whether she would accept BJP’s Rajya Sabha offer. Khushbu has options before her and she should take wise decisions that would help her.
