The most important trait for a politician is a humane touch that brings him closer to the masses. This is observed in abundance in chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, and it was on display again today while he took part in the pension distribution scheme.
Babu has made it a habit to take part in the pension distribution scheme by physically partaking in the program and interacting with the rural population during these visits.
On one such visit to Annamayya district today, Babu came across a struggling family that had a handicapped son and widowed daughter. Earlier, Babu sanctioned a battery powered handicapped cycle to the handicapped boy, and later he was introduced to the widowed wife(along with a small child). After learning that her husband died by suicide due to excessive loans, Babu did something touching.
On the spot, Chandrababu asked his subordinates to assess the educational qualification of the lady and give her a job in the skill development program or the Anganwadi program. Also, he ordered authorities to grant her a house from the government housing program.
A single visit from the chief minister changed this family’s fate for good. Babu granted, handicapped cycle, handicap pension, a house and a job to the struggling family on the spot. Such is the transformative powers held by positions of power and it’s good to see Babu consistently showing the same even in his fifth decade in politics.
