Change Begins! Transfers of Non-Hindu Employees in TTD

Following the directions of TTD Board chairman B.R. Naidu, action has been initiated over 18 TTD employees, who are non-Hindus and involved in the promotion of other religions. All the 18 employees were transferred. The transfer of non-Hindu employees is a major step by the authorities in restoring the confidence of the Hindu pilgrims flocking to the sacred shrine. Several Hindu devotees have been demanding removal of non-Hindu employees in the Board. Considering the demands seriously, the TDP coalition government swung into action.

Devotees thronging the Tirumala shrine expressed concern over the widespread availability of non-vegetarian food, drugs and alcohol on the sacred Tirumala Hills, which is allegedly being abetted by some non-Hindu employees.

Earlier, the TTD Board, facing criticism for neglecting Santana Dharma and Hinduism, conducted an inquriy and identified 69 employees involved in promoting non-Hindu activities, including some retired employees.

Among those transferred are the Principal of TTD Women’s Polytechnic College, the Principal of Sri Venkateswara University’s Ayurveda College, lecturers in various educational institutions, hostel wardens, and others. Additionally, there are about 300 other non-Hindu employees working in various departments within TTD.

Former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy faced severe criticism for bringing disrepute to the TTD Board, as several accusations of mismanagement surfaced during his tenure. Irregularities in the functioning of the Board were rife ranging from non-Hindu employees garnering promotions, religious propaganda on RTC tickets and controversy surrounding the monthly magazine Saptagiri.

The YCP government’s involvement in the auctioning of TTD lands and party flag colours replacing the images of Hindu deities on the wall of SV University led to further loss in the credibility of the authorities. Allegations on adulteration of ghee used in Tirupati laddoo was the last straw that led to complete disbelief in Jagan’s leadership among Hindus.

The TDP coalition government, which assumed charge after securing a huge mandate, initiated several reforms and measures to restore the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala.

A section of the Hindu devotees expressed satisfaction over the TTD Board’s decision.
