With the onset of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, the capital region of Amaravati is steadily regaining its lost momentum. One significant development project related to the roadway infrastructure in Amaravati is the mega “Baahubali” bridge, which is nearing completion.
This massive bridge spans the Krishna River and is now in its final stages, with funding allocations provided by the NDA government.
Once the bridge is fully open to the public, the travel route to Amaravati will no longer require entering Vijayawada. Commuters will be able to take the connecting highway that starts at Gollapudi and use the newly developing “Baahubali” bridge to directly reach Amaravati.
The key advantage of this mega bridge is that it will connect Amaravati to national highways leading to other major cities across the country. Previously, there was no bypass route, and people had to travel from Amaravati to Vijayawada to access the national highways.
Now, with the new bridge, Amaravati will have direct access to other major cities via national highways, which will play a crucial role in the development of roadways in and around Amaravati, bringing a new dimension to the city.
The construction of the bridge is being carried out by Navayuga and Adani groups, with work progressing at a rapid pace. The tentative plan is to make the Baahubali Bridge available for public use by the end of April.
