Nepal Gets Charter, India Gets Handcuffs: Congress Protests

It is known that the United States government has been taking a very aggressive approach when it comes to departing the illegal immigrants in the country. Already, multiple batches of illegal immigrants from India who had been wrongly staying in the U.S. have been deported using military aircrafts.

However, the nature of these immigrations, and also the kind of restrictive practices that are being imposed have led to several discussions.

Adding to the misery now, the latest case of deportation that happened with the Nepali illegal immigrants has led to a new political discourse.

The Congress party shared a video of Nepali immigrants who got deported from the U.S. recently and compared it with the deportation process that was enforced for India.

Congress is saying that U.S. is far more concerned about the deportation drive in Nepal than India. It is pointed out that the U.S. government used a special chartered flight to deport Nepali nationals while they used one large military aircraft to deport Indians and even handcuffed Indian nationals in the deportation process.

The argument that is being made by congress is that the US is far more lenient towards a small nation like Nepal while it’s very aggressive when it comes to a large diplomat nation like India. The difference in chartered flight treatment to Nepal and handcuffs treatment to India is being highlighted here.
