Kangana Ranaut’s self-directed political drama Emergency has unexpectedly landed on OTT ahead of schedule. Originally set for release on Netflix on March 17, the film is already streaming. It comes as a big Holi surprise for all the fans who are waiting until Monday.
Emergency carried a huge hype at the box office but it hit theaters on January 17 after multiple delays. However, the movie is declared a flop. It earned only ₹21 crore despite its high budget.
The film, based on the events of the 1975 Emergency imposed by then-Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, features Kangana in the lead role as Indira herself. Apart from directing, she also produced the film, reportedly even selling her own properties to fund it.
The cast includes Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik in key roles.
