Ruling TRS party has got a big blow in Dubbak by election. TRS, which had been pretty confident of its victory in Dubbak, received a huge set back as the result came in total contrast to the party’s expectation. TRS believed that the party was “strong” in Dubbak and pro-government votes would favour the ruling party. It believed that the voters who wish for progress and development would vote for the ruling party.
TRS also believed that “anti-government” votes would split between Opposition Congress and Challenger BJP. But in contrary, the anti-government votes were consolidated and they were grabbed by the BJP leaving Opposition Congress to the third spot. TRS also tried to “trouble” BJP candidate and his supporters during the campaign using the government’s force. All these seems to have send “wrong signals” to voters. Political analysts opine that BJP’s victory in Dubbak is certainly a major shock to TRS even though the margin is less.
However, the TRS had not expected this outcome where BJP defeated it by 1118 votes as of now. In fact, soon after the result came out, TRS working president KTR himself stated that the result was not at all expected and it was an alarming result for the party and the leaders.
On the other hand, BJP’s active and aggressive campaign in cities and Raghunandan Rao attracting young voters seem to have worked. On the whole, TRS poll strategy has failed big time in Dubbak.
