The government of India is very proactive when it comes to enhancing the payment schemes of public representatives. The same was exhibited today after the central government issued a notification towards the increment of salaries for Member of Parliament and also ex Member of Parliament.
As per the latest notification issued by the government of India, the salary and pension that is paid to the representatives of the parliament has been enhanced significantly.
The monthly salary for sitting MPs has been increased from 1 lakh to Rs 1.24 lakh. The daily allowance has been raised from Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,500. The monthly pension has been revised from Rs 25,000 to Rs 31,000 for former members of the parliament. This new payment program will come to effect from 1 April.
