Govt. Employee’s Open Letter To Chandrababu Goes Viral

Usually, most government employees have numerous complaints against the ruling government with regards to their salaries and other benefits. But in a rare instance, a government school teacher, Raghava Ramireddy’s open letter thanking the Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu’s government after his PF money got deposited in his bank account is going viral on social media.

“Every month, we keep a small amount of our salary with the employer, i.e., the government. We do this with the hope that those savings will be useful after our retirement, for our children’s education, children’s marriage, covering emergency medical expenses, or buying or building a new house. We do this with utmost belief and confidence in the government. No government has broken our trust over the years,” the teacher wrote in his Facebook post.

Ramireddy went on to reveal how the previous government, led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, troubled the government employees during his tenure. “Those who governed us before you made us cry literally. Whenever we needed the money we had saved with the government, it never reached us in our hard times. We eventually came to know that they had used even our savings to cover their expenses,” he added.

Talking about how the YSRCP government had oppressed their voices, Ramireddy went on to write, “When we questioned – is this fair? – there was no use. Our voice was not heard, and they even made us afraid to speak up. There was no use even if we informed our union leaders about our plight. A friend had to take a loan at high interest to get his daughter married when his repeated pleas for his money were turned down. There was so much pain in his eyes that day,” he said.

The teacher then wrote how the Chandrababu sarkar surprised him by gradually paying their money in installments on the 5th of every month, which was a big deal back then. “They left, you came. We all wondered how the new government would pay our salaries when the previous government had usurped all our hard-earned savings. But you are paying the arrears of salaries of the maids, watchmen, mid-day meal workers, arrears of loans taken by the employees, and arrears of the students’ fees,” he added.

Ramireddy concluded his post, saying that, despite doing so much for the government employees, the Babu government is not publicising their good deeds. “Had it been the previous government, even if they had released a few hundred crores, they would have made a pompous show out of it through advertisements and speeches – a nauseating display of arrogance,” he concluded.
