TDP Scoop: YS Jagan Renamed 10 Out Of 11 Projects After Reddys

The TDP cadre is giving sleepless nights to the YSRCP leaders and supporters by unearthing how former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance was all but empty vessels that made the loudest noise during its 5-year term. TDP supporters recently revealed how YS Jagan renamed as many as eleven existing and thriving irrigation projects and schemes after his late father and former CM of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, and other prominent leaders hailing from the Reddy community.

Jagan renamed the Godavari-Penna Rivers interlinking phase-1 scheme as YSRCP DMP (YSR Palnadu Drought Mitigation Project). Later, the Mukyala Lift Irrigation Scheme was renamed as YSR Vedadri Lift Irrigation Scheme, followed by Veligallu Reservoir as YSR Veligallu Balancing Reservoir, Sarvaraya Sagar Reservoir as Narredy Siva Rami Reddy Reservoir, Nellore Barrage as Nallapureddy Srinivasareddy Nellore Barrage, Sangam Barrage as Mekapati Gautham Reddy Sangam Barrage, Thatipudi Reservoir as Gorrepati Butchi Apparao Reservoir, Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi scheme as Anantha Venkata Reddy Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi, Paritala Ravindra lift irrigation project as YSR Upper Pennar project, Mogaligundala Mini Reservoir as Butchapalli Subbareddy Mini Reservoir, Raketla Amidyala Lift Irrigation Scheme as Raketla Narayana Reddy Lift Irrigation Scheme.

The YSRCP government’s audacity in renaming 4 existing irrigation projects and schemes after the late Chief Minister YSR and another 6 projects after the YSRCP leaders belonging to the Reddy community is being trolled by the TDP cadre. It’s worth mentioning that soon after coming to power with a thumping victory in the 2024 general elections, the Chandrababu-led alliance government had issued a G.O. in August 2024, dropping all the YSRCP nomenclatures and renaming the projects back to their previous names. The changed names were later published in the state gazette.
