A tragic road accident occurred on Monday morning in Annamayya district, Andhra Pradesh. A Deputy Collector, who was traveling to the district headquarters, lost her life in the accident. Four other people were injured. The victim, Sugali Rama, was serving as the Special Deputy Collector for the area under the Handri Niva Sujala Sravanthi project. She was based in Pileru and was responsible for handling grievances every Monday at the district headquarters.
On Monday, she left for Rayachoti, the district center, to attend the grievance cell. However, before reaching her destination, she met with the fatal accident.
While traveling from Pileru to Rayachoti, her car collided with an oncoming vehicle near Erreguntla in the Sambreppalli mandal. In the crash, Rama died on the spot. Four other people in the vehicles were seriously injured. The police, who arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the news, shifted her body to the government hospital for post-mortem. The injured were also rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The tragic death of the woman officer while on duty to attend a grievance cell has deeply saddened the official circles.
Upon hearing the news of the accident, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed his shock. He described the death of Rama, who was attending to public grievances, as unfortunate. Chandrababu conveyed his condolences to Rama’s family and issued a statement through social media. He also assured that the government would make every effort to provide better treatment to the injured in the accident.
