After the historic defeat in the recent Andhra Pradesh general election, Anil Kumar Yadav stood away from Congress briefly. After a failed campaign from Narsaraopeta Parliamentary constituency, he was shifted back to Nellore by Jagan.
The point that must be noted here is that Anil had stayed away from party activities for a lot of time after the election. He was nowhere to be seen in the party activities for many months after the completion of the election.
However, after a long wait, Anil finally appeared before Jagan today as he took part in an internal meeting with Jagan at his camp office in Tadepalli today. This is his first public appearance on behalf of Congress after a long time.
Though Anil looked unlikely to be accepted in Janasena and Telugu Desam considering his problematic track record , the fact that he stood away from Jagan’s party was a peculiar development.
Perhaps he seems to have understood that he has no other shelter in Andhra Pradesh, apart from YCP and that’s being cited as one of the explanations of his persistence with the Jagan party. This looks more like compulsion rather than a case of political interest.
