AP CM Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Andhra Pradesh government plans to introduce Artificial Intelligence (AI) lessons starting from Grade 5 in all government schools. He made this statement during a workshop held on Thursday, focusing on AI and its applications.
During the session, the Naidu was briefed on how AI is influencing various sectors, especially in IT. Experts explained the transformations AI is bringing to the industry and explained the need to provide adequate skill training to avoid job displacement due to technological advancements.
Chandrababu also highlighted the use of AI in agriculture, particularly in northern states, where drones are being deployed to spray pesticides and identify crop diseases. He shared the importance of leveraging such technology in Andhra Pradesh as well.
Babu suggested providing AI training to women in self-help groups, especially those involved in agriculture. Teaching them to operate drones using AI could significantly boost productivity, he noted. He also stressed the importance of reskilling current IT professionals to ensure job security as AI becomes more integrated into the workforce.
Furthermore, Chandrababu stated that the state government is committed to establishing an AI university. He believes that introducing AI concepts from Grade 5 will prepare students to face future challenges confidently. The government is also actively supporting the startup ecosystem, identifying promising startups, and providing financial assistance to help them grow.
