It is already known that the government of India has issued strict regulations to the Pakistani people staying in India after the brutal Pahalgam terrorist strike. India has instructed Pakistani individuals to leave the country by April 29(for those on medical visas), while the regulation period of stay for normal visa already came to an on April 27.
This brings us to the question – What happens if any Pakistani stay back in India, even after the designated final day of April 29?
Fundamentally speaking, after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government revoked all visas issued to Pakistani nationals, including medical visas, now valid only until April 29, 2025.
Under the new Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025, Pakistanis who fail to leave India by the deadline may face up to three years in prison, a fine of up to ₹3 lakh, or both.
The bill also introduces strict penalties for immigration violations, meaning illegal entry into India without valid documents can result in up to five years’ imprisonment and a ₹5 lakh fine, while using forged documents attracts two to seven years in prison and fines between ₹1 lakh and ₹10 lakh.
These are the fines and imprisonment sentences that could come to affect to the Pakistanis who overstay in India.
