Vallabhaneni Vamsi was once one of the most controversial leaders in Andhra Pradesh. But his fate changed after the onset of the NDA government in AP, and things are not looking very positive for him for the time being.
It has been three months since the arrest of Vamsi in the SC/ST atrocity case but on a more relevant angle, he has the TDP office attack case that’s also in the lineup. Though he had already secured bail in the SC/ST atrocity case, there are other factors that are coming into play.
In the meanwhile, the latest pictures of Vamsi have surfaced on social media and they have created a new political discourse. He is seen suffering from a respiratory illness and had sought bail on medical grounds.
He had been struggling in jail for the last three months and has been suffering from a prevailing medical condition as well. But there’s not even an iota of sympathy on him till now.
On the contrary, when senior leaders like Chandrababu Naidu got arrested, they had gained a huge public sympathy going their way and there were protests against the arrest in the first place.
But that is not even remotely the case with Vamsi now. Let alone wide protests, people of his own Gannavaram constituency who had elected him for the last decade or so, have no regret about his attack.
The blatant lack of sympathy and public emotion on the behalf of Vamsi’s arrest is perhaps an indication of the acceptance of the legal reprimand that he is facing.
