Anchor Faces Trolls for Pausing Minister’s Speech to Welcome Sreeleela

Noted anchor Jhansi is facing criticism on social media for her allegedly disrespecting state cabinet minister D. Sridhar Babu, by interrupting his speech midway to welcome heroine Sreeleela.

Getting into details, Minister Sridhar Babu launched the “SITHA” App the other day in Hyderabad. This app is designed to help women find flexible and skill-based opportunities. While Sridhar Babu was addressing the attendees at the event, Sreeleela arrived at the venue.

To welcome her, Jhansi interrupted Sridhar Babu and said, “I apologise to Minister sir. But I’m here to invite the most beautiful actress and a young entrepreneur, Sreeleela garu, onto the stage.”

The clipping soon went viral on social media, with netizens expressing divided opinions on the incident. A section of people said that Sridhar Babu was visibly upset for interrupting his speech, and it is Jhansi’s fault to interrupt a minister while he was speaking, only to invite an actress. They called it an insensitive act and demanded an apology from Jhansi.

On the other side, a few other people said that Jhansi had already apologised to the minister on the stage. They opined that the issue shouldn’t be taken seriously. Meanwhile, it has to be seen if Jhansi responds to this backlash on social media.
