It is already known that Vizag hosted a couple of games in the recent season of IPL. This is primarily due to the understanding between Nara Lokesh and ICC president Jay Shah and also his close negotiations with the GMR Group that owns Delhi Capitals franchise who readily played two games in Vizag.
After the IPL bandwagon, it is now the turn of the cricket World Cup itself to come to Vizag and the same was confirmed by Lokesh. He confirmed that Vizag will be hosting as many as five games in the upcoming season of women’s cricket World Cup 2025.
The most interesting part here is that the games are going to be played in Vizag aren’t namesake games either. India will be a part of two of these five games and these two games happen to be against Australia and South Africa, respectively. This pretty much confirms that Vizag will be indulging in heated and interesting cricketing action in the coming World Cup.
These two games are going to be played on 9th and 12th of October respectively.
After having witnessed a slump for the last five years, the Vizag cricket Stadium is finally returning its glory with significant IPL games and also international matches.
