Since yesterday morning, a shocking video showing the car used by YS Jagan during his recent Sattenapalli trip running over an elderly man has gone viral. Andhra Pradesh politics have since been centered around this incident.
Guntur police have already confirmed that YS Jagan has been named as one of the primary accused in the case, and legal procedures are currently underway.
Reacting to the matter for the first time, the former Chief Minister chose not to address the tragic incident directly. Instead, he focused on his personal security concerns.
“As a former Chief Minister, I am entitled to Z+ category security. We had informed the local police in advance about my visit to the constituency. In that case, the local police should have arranged proper security protocols and a vehicle convoy for me. But there was nothing of that sort. Why is my security not being prioritized?” Jagan questioned.
In his lengthy statement, which went on for several paragraphs, Jagan did not express any remorse or sympathy regarding the death of the elderly man, Singayya. The entire statement revolved around the lack of security provided to him.
Jagan further stated that his responsibility ended after his party gave ₹10 lakh to the victim’s family following the incident and that was all he had to say.
