Roja is one of the most outspoken leaders in the YSR Congress Party, but her aggressive tone often leads to controversial statements that attract widespread trolling. A similar scenario unfolded again as she took a dig at Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
“Pawan Kalyan has the audacity to warn YS Jagan, and I don’t understand his qualification. He didn’t win with the support of the people but rather through EVM management. Otherwise, how can someone who lost both constituencies in 2019 lead his party to win all 21 seats in 2024?” Roja questioned.
Roja implied that Pawan Kalyan is not a leader chosen by the people but a product of EVM manipulation.
However, her wild allegation triggered a strong political backlash from the Janasena Party. Supporters pointed out that Roja herself became an MLA, and Jagan became the Chief Minister in 2019 through the same EVMs she is now blaming.
“This same Roja won twice from Nagari using the same EVMs. And by that logic, Jagan didn’t really win in 2019 either. It was Jagan’s atrocious governance that led to YCP’s downfall-not the EVMs,” an angry Janasainik remarked.
Political observers are noting that YCP still seems to be in denial, blaming EVMs for their humiliating defeat instead of accepting that the public rejected Jagan’s leadership. They warn that the longer YCP stays in this delusion, the more damage it could cause to the party’s future.
