Andhra Pradesh is taking a big leap in tourism with a new concept: Caravan Tourism. The state’s tourism department is exploring fresh ideas and modern approaches to attract visitors. With his proactive push and openness to private investment, Durgesh is shaping a vibrant future for AP tourism.
On Friday, the state officially introduced Caravan Tourism, a unique travel experience designed for comfort, mobility, and privacy. These caravans are luxury vehicles, similar to the ones used by film stars and celebrities, equipped with modern amenities like private restrooms, showers, beds, workspaces, televisions, and more. They’re essentially homes on wheels, perfect for long-distance travel with the comfort of a hotel.
As part of the initial phase, the AP Tourism Department has procured two caravans. These were formally unveiled during the “Tourism Conclave Tech AI 2.0” event in the presence of CM Chandrababu Naidu and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. The launch was a symbolic step towards a broader tourism vision for the state.
Chief Minister Naidu praised Durgesh’s efforts, calling him a game changer in the tourism space. He also assured full government support for these kinds of forward-thinking projects.
The new caravan services are expected to be rolled out for public use very soon. These are especially ideal for families or small groups who wish to explore tourist spots in comfort and privacy.
While the booking charges and usage rates are yet to be finalized, Minister Durgesh said a detailed announcement will be made in the next couple of days, explaining how the public can access these caravans and what pricing to expect.
With such innovations, Andhra Pradesh seems to be on a mission to reinvent its tourism identity — making it not just scenic, but also stylish and smart.
